Mayor’s Show Ballymoney
June 30
Join in the jubilations as a parade winds it way through Ballymoney town centre with a ‘back to the Fifties’ theme. Other entertainment includes a display of vintage vehicles, face painting balloon modelling and music from DJ Barry. 

Punch And Judy On The Promenade
July 7–August 4
Time may not have faded his rosy complexion but this year marks the 350th birthday of esteemed paragon of puppetry, Mr Punch. celebrate this milestone by taking in a classic puppet show on the promenade in Newcastle, County Down where audiences can expect traditional slapstick humour and a healthy dose of bopping from the great man's irritable wife.

Irish Game Fair
July 7, 8
Now in its 50th year this annual event at Shane’s Castle Estate in Lough Neagh is a celebration of Northern Ireland’s countryside heritage dating from the Viking era to the First World War. Embark on a trip through time with your family by watching fire eating and juggling performers, dog shows and equestrian competitions. There will also be cookery demonstrations and an array of children’s entertainment including bouncy castles and a climbing wall. 

Sea Safari
July 11
Head out to sea on an Aquaholics sightseeing safari with your child, setting sail from Portstewart in County Londonderry. Previous passengers have managed to spot puffins, seals and basking sharks. 

Teddy Trails
July 16–20
If you go down to the woods today in Lough Neagh Civic Centre then don’t forget to bring along a furry friend to join in this teddy bear themed activity day. Children can go on woodland discovery walks, try to spot The Gruffalo and take part in art & craft activities. 

August 4–11
Maiden City Festival
This week-long celebration of diversity in Northern Ireland is sure to have an exciting event to suit every family, including drama performances, live song and dance, historic reconstructions and delicious foodie fairs.

Kite Festival
August 5
Lets go fly a kite, up to the highest height! Families should wrap up warmly and hope for a stiff breeze for this kite festival at Downhill Demesne in Castlerock. Children can enjoy watching hundreds of windborne wonders take to the skies and join by flying a kite of their very own. 

Family Garden Workshop
August 11
The gardens at Mount Stewart House will be in full summer bloom just in time for this monthly workshop. Green-fingered families who want their gardening skills to blossom should pop along to pick up tips and learn seasonal and topical ideas to try at home.
