"They are making the front pages, sitting front row and are the talk of fashion week. Yes, the celebrity kids are taking over our social media and dominating the fashion world. Move over adults, it is the baby fashionistas that are filling our Instagram feed and we can’t get enough of their cuteness!
North West, Kim and Kanye’s adorable daughter who has graced the fashion scene since she was born, is definitely going to be a kid that knows her fashion. With her custom designed Alexander Wang outfit sitting FROW in NYC fashion week, albeit with a few tears, is top of the crops of influential fashion kids. Known for dressing in head-to-toe black (because Kanye claims there is no shade of pink to suit her, which I think is ABSURD!), we have come to admire her mini Dr Marten boots and her punk rock edge.
My favourite look is North's mini kitten Charlotte Olympia shoes, I already have a pair lined up for Chloe! Although I would like to see her dressed in more colour and less black. Personally I am not a fan of dressing babies or toddlers in black. Let me know your thoughts on in using the hashtag #oliviarubinjunioronline
If classic chic is more your bag, look to Harper Beckham for some traditional dress styles with a twist. Another FROW toddler, she wore one of my favourite brands, Bonpoint, to her mum’s NYC show in a black dress with a white collar. She is partial to this classic French label and had been spotted looking very demure in a cotton print summer dress and a gorgeous tartan dress with matching hairband. My moment of baby-spiration had to be when she embraced colour, in a striking yellow blouse by BonTon and adorable Zara Kids suede ankle boots-perfect for a family shopping trip in Paris (as you do!) Check out the Harper Beckham blog dedicated to the beautiful Harper for for the lowdown on what this mini Beckham is wearing.
Let’s turn our attention to the boys with style and, with three of them, Gwen Stefani certainly has her hands full. Zuma, Kingston and Apollo have a fashion icon as a mum to look up to and their unique style and quirky hair dos certainly reflects their rock heritage. If blue mohawks and shaved heads aren’t exactly what you are looking for then look to their extensive range of graphic tees and casual wear for some inspiration. I love a slogan tee for both myself and for Chloe, and so do Gwen’s boys. It’s refreshing to see that Gwen heads to our high street faves Gap , All Saints and Nike for a lot of their wears, but check out need to know super cool LA based brand Jagged Culture for some cult prints! It seems they have an extensive fan base of other mini rockstars too.
Last but not least we have to acknowledge the trend setting Prince George whose traditional styles are complete sell outs within moments of his appearances. From his sell out, Junior Design Award winning, Rachel Riley dungarees to his knitted Cath Kidston soldier tank top, take a leaf out of the Royal book and pick out traditional colours for your little man from navy, to royal blue and mixing some sky blue into a more neutral palette for the summer. Why not try a collared polo shirt or a knitted cardigan to the get the look? These classic items can be worn everyday and are a comfortable yet smart way of keeping a traditional touch.
There’s no mistaking that the celebrity baby fascination is here to stay."
